Craigtoun Events Space
Set within the natural beauty of Craigtoun Park, our proposal envisions a new multi-use community space designed to support education and a wide range of local initiatives. The concept centres around flexibility - creating a welcoming and adaptable environment that serves the diverse needs of community groups, schools, volunteers, and events.
Cellardyke Shore Street
This project involves the sensitive refurbishment and extension of a Category C listed home within a Conservation Area, tailored for a growing family of musicians. Key aims include celebrating the historic rear stone wall - especially its curved stairwell - by introducing a glazed slot that highlights its full height, while enhancing connectivity to the garden.
St Andrews Residential Refurbishment
St Andrews Residential Refurbishment: This project involves the full refurbishment, reconfiguration, and extension of an existing family home in St Andrews, creating a contemporary and highly functional home tailored to the needs of its owners. The design transforms the dated cellular internal layout into a bright, open, and flexible living environment while carefully respecting the scale and character of the surrounding residential neighbourhood.
Dawsons Local Soho
Our client, NME, sought to update their existing shopfront on the bustling Denmark Street in London.The design proposal retained the existing black colour to in keep with our client’s branding. A larger fascia sign with white vinyl was installed above the existing shopfront glazing to allow for better visibility to the shop inside. A smaller fascia sign was installed below the existing to enhance our clients brand identity on the street. Furthermore, additional glazing bars enhanced the existing character of the shopfront.
Highgate School
A new entrance and academic heart for a leading independent school in Highgate’s urban village.Highgate School is an independent foundation of three schools which provides an all-through education from sites totalling 55 acres in north London. As a forward-thinking, progressive organisation, the school aims to harness the energy and activity of its students in the academic setting as well as offering them a refuge for quiet reflection in an often frenetic urban environment. As with several of Orms’ education projects, designing within this context required a thorough consideration of the surrounding urban character, as well as an understanding of how the existing school buildings worked together as a mini-campus.

King’s School Ely
King’s Ely lies close to one of the most important cultural landmarks in England, Ely Cathedral and its cluster of listed monastic buildings. When the school decided to reinforce its enviable reputation for art and drama by extending its existing facilities, it was clear that respect for the historic site – and the distinctive plain lines of the local vernacular – should inform the design.
Lush Aberdeeen
Medius House is located on Wardour Street in Soho and is Grade II listed. The building was originally used as a warehouse for the printing and bookbinding department of Novello Music Publishers.
Options in Life
RKA has designed a new home for Options in Life, a charity that supports young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Set within the former TSB building in Cupar, a Category C listed structure, the project transforms the historic property into a vibrant and fully accessible space for education, social activity, administration, and a new public café.
Ravenscraig Stone Sheds
With funding from the Scottish Government’s Vacant and Derelict Land Fund, essential repairs were commissioned to a pair of listed stone sheds located on the edge of Ravenscraig Park in Kirkcaldy. Managed by Fife Historic Buildings Trust, RKA were appointed to design and oversee the repair proposals, aiming to make the derelict buildings safe once again. The intention ws for the restored sheds to be used by the neighbouring community allotments group as storage or as a space for plant sales and community events.
