Erin Wilkinson, Architectural Designer

Erin Wilkinson - RKA Architects

Erin recently completed her MArch at Scott Sutherland School in Aberdeen, where she also gained her Bachelors in 2019. After obtaining the Bachelors, Erin completed her Part I placement at Eólas Architects in Aberfeldy. Here, she enhanced her skills and interest for rural architecture and restoration through working on a large variety of projects. Due to many of these being situated in a conservation area, every project was carefully considered in terms of integration and materiality, which she enjoyed.

She has a particular interest in environmental and mental health, taking focus on how architecture can encourage more sustainable lifestyle. This is reflected in all of her work, for example, her thesis was based around the concept of a ‘Clachan’, which explored the benefits of communal living for both social and environmental sustainability.

Erin also has a keen interest in restoration and adaption of existing buildings. She has explored this in theory, through her dissertation, in practice at her previous firm, and looks forward to continuing practicing this at RKA
