Chris Townsend, Director

Chris moved back to Scotland in 2021 and joined RKA following 8 years working with Richard at Orms.

After graduating from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow Chris worked in London for over 10 years during which time he completed his part 3 architectural education at Westminster University.

Chris worked at Canaway Fleming Architects before joining Orms where he spent the past 8 years working on a wide variety of re-use and new build projects, most recently leading the multi-million pound mixed use office development of 101 Moorgate for Aviva Investors. During his time at Orms Chris was a member of the first employee ownership council, also running the office sketch club events.

Chris worked on a number of Orms projects under Richards leadership and since relocating back to Glasgow is delighted to join RKA, building on the successful working relationship they developed together.

Chris runs the RKA studio in Glasgow overseeing a number of projects as well as leading the office standards and protocol systems within the practice.
