Madeline Hulton
Architectural Assistant
Madeline has recently joined the RKA team for her Part 1 placement after graduating from the University of Dundee with a BArch (Hons) with Merit. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in place-based architecture and how it can contribute to more sustainable design. In her third-year thesis, she explored the influence of Scottish vernacular architecture on contemporary practice, highlighting how traditional forms and materials are shaping modern approaches to design. Andrew McKay
Architectural Designer
Andrew obtained his Master's of Architecture at The University of Dundee and is currently gaining experience in preparation for his part 3 studies. Andrew previously worked at RKA during his year out gaining invaluable experience before he returned to complete his studies. Through university Andrew developed a keen interest in conservation and regenerative design, eventually exploring these themes through his master's thesis. The thesis explored the fragility, memory, and obsolescence of listed buildings and how this relates to the decay of Dundee’s Hilltown. Chu-Lin Pamela Feng
Architectural Designer
Chu qualified as an Architect in the Spring of 2025, having completed her RIBA Part III with RKA and registered with the Architect Registration Board. She holds a MArch degree from the University of Edinburgh where she was awarded joint Best Overall MArch student in 2021. Chu’s professional experience spans both architectural and interior design practices, at a London-based design studio in 2018 and a small practice in Edinburgh’s Old Town, where she worked as a Part II Architectural Assistant until the end of 2023. Eilidh Townend
Architectural Assistant
Eilidh joined the team in 2023 on her Part 1 placement, having received a BArch with Distinction from Dundee University. She is now studying for her Part 2 at Strathclyde University. Having grown up across 6 countries, Eilidh has a personal interest in creating architecture that defines a sense of place and belonging, especially by looking at the local vernacular. Toni Gartshore
Interior Designer
Toni gained a First-Class Honors Degree in Interior Design in 2020 after studying at both Fife College and Heriot Watt University. Since graduating Toni had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including retail, hospitality, office and education design. Interiors were always an interest of Toni's, on a small scale, before studying it was fabrics and finishes that took her interest. Ben Fraser
Architectural Designer
Ben joined RKA in the summer of 2022 from the University of Dundee as a Part I Architectural Assistant. He continued working part-time with the practice while completing his studies between 2023 and 2025. In June 2025, Ben graduated with a Master of Architecture with First Class Honours, completing five years of study at the University of Dundee. During his time at RKA, Ben has contributed to a diverse range of projects including residential, commercial, education, listed building, and third sector projects. Erin Wilkinson
Architect
Erin joined the practice in 2022, shortly after completing her studies at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen where she gained a Masters in Architecture. She also gained experience across Highland Perthshire in 2019 and between semesters 2020-21, working mostly on rural residential work for private clients. This, combined with her experience gained at RKA in more recent years, allowed her to gain her Part 3, and title 'Architect' in March 2025. Enbiya Yuecel
Architectural Designer
Enbiya joined RKA in 2021 as a Part I Architectural Assistant during her year out from the University of Strathclyde. She continued to work part-time with the practice while completing her Master of Architecture degree, graduating with First Class Honours in 2024. In her final year, she gained her Part II qualifications, and her thesis project - centred around speculation, meaning, and the emotional impact of architecture - was shortlisted for the Glasgow Eimear Kelt Medal and presented to Glasgow City Council. Fergus Birrell
Architectural Designer
Fergus is studying for his part 2 masters at the University of Strathclyde and has stayed with RKA on a part time basis following a very successful Part 1 year out. Fergus played a key role in a number of commercial and residential projects during his year out.
