Suzanne Simpson, Architectural Designer

Suzanne Simpson, Interior Designer - RKA Architects

Suzanne studied Interior Design at Middlesex University, graduating with a First Class degree in 2006.  The course included a year out in industry where she joined a local architects practice and in that time developed an understanding of how to apply an architectural approach to interior spaces.

This was further encouraged with her professional career beginning at ORMS architects, a London based studio specialising in Commercial projects. During her 8 years with the studio, she progressed from assistant to project leader, with experience across a wide range of sectors, most notably Workplace and Wellness

With ORMS, Suzanne was involved in the extensive refurbishment of a central London office tower block owned by property developer Derwent London, who wished to update their building to appeal to both media and corporate tenants.  A phased project which spanned three years and included re-modelling of the facade at street level, full refurbishment of the reception area, lift cores and WCS, Cat-A fit out of the office floors, and extension of the Ground Floor retail units

She also worked with Holmes Place to create landmark luxury Health clubs in Athens and Berlin

Over the last 5 years she has worked as a freelancer with a number high profile studios, with most recent project experience developing a new store concept for high-end clothing retailers Tiger of Sweden.

I am a big believer that the built environment can either positively or negatively influence an individuals daily experience, and as designers we have a responsibility to create spaces which help people feel supported, engaged and inspired.
